roll-credits
Movie-style credits for your session in a pane: top file, tools, turns and plot twists.

roll-credits turns your Claude Code session into movie credits. Run /credits and a pane scrolls them line by line: the file you edited most gets top billing, the tools you used get a thank-you and every failed call becomes a plot twist. Everything is counted locally, with no model calls and no telemetry, so it costs zero tokens.
What it does
- The credits. A title (your project folder, or a name you give), then Starring: the file with the most successful edit calls. Supporting Cast lists up to five more files, Special Thanks names your four most-used tools, and By the Numbers gives tool calls, completed turns, time together and plot twists.
- Commands.
/creditsrolls the current session./credits The Tiny Launchsets the title./credits --stillshows everything at once, no animation./credits --textprints the credits as plain text./credits demouses fictional data without touching your statistics./credits --helpshows usage. Options go before the title. - The pane. Still/Play, Replay and Close buttons; Escape closes it while focused. One line every 0.65 seconds, stopping at the end. Each run takes a snapshot, so edits during the roll do not reorder the cast.
- Only on request. Nothing appears when a session ends; you ask for the credits.
Install
Needs Claude Code 2.1.287 or later and an interactive terminal for the pane.
claude plugin marketplace add smukh/roll-credits
claude plugin install roll-credits@roll-credits-marketplace
Restart Claude after installing. Run /credits demo to see the sample credits, then /credits for your own session.
How it works
The module watches session.start, tool.call and turn.complete. On every tool call it records the tool name, whether the call failed (error, denied or thrown) and, for successful Edit, Write and NotebookEdit calls, the file path. Subagent tool calls count too. Only the main agent’s completed answer turns count as turns.
Everything stays in memory and resets when the mod loads again; no transcripts are imported. It saves no prompts, answers, file contents or command arguments. Only basenames are shown, and it keeps at most 512 files and 512 tool names. It makes no network calls.
The cast counts edit calls, not changed lines. Edits made through Bash or an external editor are not credited. Elapsed time is wall time, idle included.
Limitations
- The pane needs an interactive session. In
claude -p, or when a pane cannot open, the credits print as text. The author tests desktop and mobile rendering but does not claim every Claude app exposes mods. - If another plugin already owns
/credits, that plugin keeps it and roll-credits stays silent. - Two files with the same basename appear twice under the same name. Filenames can still be sensitive if you share the credits.
