pull-request-pane opens a pane beside the Claude Code transcript with the GitHub pull requests and issues your session is about. Each pull request shows its checks, review decision and mergeability, refreshed every 60 seconds while the pane is open. Drag over a title or a description to leave a comment on that span, add as many as you like, and Submit sends them all to Claude as one prompt that quotes each span.

What it does

  • Finds the entries itself. The pull requests of the checked-out branch come first, then the issues their descriptions close (closes #12, fixes #34) and any number in the branch name, then every #123 or GitHub URL of the same repository mentioned in the transcript. A rule separates pull requests from issues.
  • Shows status at a glance. Every entry links to GitHub. A pull request gets a checks toggle next to one colored word: passing, running, failing or no checks. Expand it for the counts, the review decision, the mergeable state and each check by name, linked to its run.
  • Takes review comments. Drag over a title or a description: the span highlights and a comment field opens under the entry with the span quoted above it. Enter adds the comment to a list with an x to remove it; Enter on an empty field drops the span. Repeat over either field, and an always-present overall field takes one comment on the entry as a whole. Submit sends every comment for that entry as one prompt, and refuses while a field still holds text you have not added, or with nothing to send. This replaced the single armed selection of 0.2.0 in version 0.3.0.
  • Refreshes on its own. The list is rebuilt after every turn, after any Bash command that calls gh, and when you press the refresh button at the top of the pane. That button also restarts the 60-second status poll.

If you only want a one-line status above the prompt with alerts when a check flips, cc-pr-tracker does that for PR URLs you paste. pull-request-pane is a full pane that finds the PRs on its own and adds review comments sent from the pane.

Install

Needs Claude Code 2.1.287 or later, plus the GitHub CLI (gh) logged in with access to the repository, and a terminal that reports the mouse for dragging and hovering.

claude plugin marketplace add meganemura/pull-request-pane
claude plugin install pull-request-pane@pull-request-pane

Run /pull-request-pane inside a checked-out GitHub repository to show the pane, and again to hide it.

How it works

It reads the session transcript to find issue and pull request references, and looks at each Bash tool call only to see whether the command contains gh and refresh afterwards. It never changes a command. Every fact in the pane comes from git rev-parse and gh (gh repo view, gh pr list, gh pr view, gh issue view) run in the session directory, so the only network traffic is what gh sends to GitHub. Each gh call is cut off after 15 seconds.

The last list of entries is saved in the plugin’s own store, so a reload of the module shows the previous entries instead of a blank pane until the next refresh lands.

The pane itself never reaches the model. A Submit does: the plugin builds one prompt, a header such as Feedback (pull-request-pane) on PR #42:, then each comment under its quoted span, the overall comment last, and hands it to the engine’s prompt submission as a normal turn. If the engine drops the prompt, the comments stay in the pane so you can press Submit again.

Limitations

  • Terminal only. The drag surface is a terminal-only element, so the pane does not draw in Claude Code Desktop or on mobile.
  • Outside a git checkout the command answers not in a GitHub repository. If gh is missing or logged out, its error shows as a line in the pane rather than being handled.
  • A bare #123 in the transcript is assumed to belong to the current repository.
  • While an entry has review activity (a pending span, a comment or unsent text in a field), its title and description stop refreshing until you Submit, so nothing a comment quotes changes under it. The refresh button respects that too. Checks, review decision and mergeability keep polling.
  • Early access, at version 0.3.0 from 18 September 2026. The author warns that the function-hooks API can change between Claude Code releases.
